📚 The Magical Homework Fairy
It was the last day of spring break, and Emily sat on the couch with a big frown.
“Ugh,” she groaned, staring at her backpack. “I forgot about my school project!”
She had a whole week to do it—but fun trips, playground time, and movie nights had taken over. Now the project on “My Favorite Animal” was due tomorrow, and she hadn’t even started.
Daniel, her brother, was outside flying a kite, but Emily couldn’t enjoy anything. “I wish someone would just poof and do it for me,” she mumbled.
Suddenly, a tiny sparkle floated down from the ceiling and landed on the table.
POOF!
A little fairy with glittery wings and purple sneakers appeared. She had a tiny pencil tucked behind her ear and a backpack even smaller than Emily’s hand.
“Did someone say poof?” the fairy asked with a grin. “I’m Tilly, the Homework Fairy! Here to help!”
Emily blinked. “Wait… really?”
“Yup! I specialize in fun, flair, and a sprinkle of silliness,” Tilly said proudly. “What’s the project?”
Emily showed her the instructions: Draw your favorite animal and write three facts about it.
“Easy-peasy lemon-squeezy!” said Tilly. She pulled out a sparkly wand and waved it at the table.
SPLAT! A giant blob of paint landed on Emily’s paper.
“Oops,” said Tilly. “That was supposed to be a tiger.”
Emily giggled.
“Let’s try again!” Tilly waved her wand again. This time, a wobbly drawing of a unicorn with fish fins appeared.
“Um… I said tiger, not tig-fish-corn,” Emily laughed.
Tilly scratched her head. “Maybe magic isn’t the best for accuracy. Let’s try the old-fashioned way!”
Together, they looked up tigers in a book. Emily started writing facts while Tilly colored with a crayon three times her size.
An hour later, Emily smiled at her finished project. “I did most of it myself!”
“And you did it great,” said Tilly, sipping juice from a bottle cap.
“Thanks for making it fun,” Emily said. “Homework isn’t so bad… if you make it silly sometimes.”
Tilly winked. “Exactly. Now I must fly—someone else just said ‘poof!’ in New Jersey.”
POOF!
She was gone in a glittery swirl, just as Daniel walked in.
“Who were you talking to?” he asked.
“No one,” Emily said with a smile. “Just… getting help from a magical friend.”
