Rapunzel!
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl named Rapunzel who lived in a tall, tall tower. She had long, golden hair that shimmered like sunshine. But poor Rapunzel was trapped in the tower by a wicked witch who didn’t let her go outside or see anyone else. The only way to get into the tower was by climbing up her long hair, which the witch would do every day.
Rapunzel often looked out the window, dreaming of what life would be like beyond the tower. One day, a brave prince rode through the forest and heard her singing a sweet song. He looked up and saw Rapunzel at the window. Amazed by her beauty and her lovely voice, he wanted to meet her. But there was no door to the tower!
The prince watched and waited. Soon, he saw the witch come and call, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!” The prince was clever. After the witch left, he went to the tower and called out the same words. Rapunzel let her hair down, thinking it was the witch, but when the prince climbed up, she was surprised to see him. For many days, the prince would visit Rapunzel, bringing her flowers and telling her stories of the world outside the tower. Rapunzel longed to see the world herself. They made a plan to escape. The prince promised to return with a way to help her get out.
But one day, the witch found out about their plan. Angry, she cut off Rapunzel’s beautiful hair and sent her far away to a lonely place in the forest. When the prince came back, the witch tricked him, and he fell from the tower, hurting his eyes so he couldn’t see.
For a long time, the prince wandered, searching for Rapunzel. One day, he heard her singing again, just like the first time. He followed her voice and found her in the forest. Overjoyed, Rapunzel hugged him, and her tears of happiness healed his eyes. The prince could see again!
Together, they returned to the prince’s kingdom, where they lived happily ever after.
