Listen to “Episode 4 – School Play Spectacle” on Spreaker.
In Willowville, the sun shone brightly, and Emily was filled with excitement for the school play at Willowville Elementary. Posters all over the school announced auditions for “The Magical Garden Adventure,” and Emily couldn’t wait to try out.
When the big day came, Emily, along with her friends Sam, Lily, and Carlos, stood backstage, feeling both excited and a little nervous.
“Good luck, Emily!” whispered Sam with a smile.
When it was her turn, Emily took a deep breath and stepped onto the stage. Mrs. Wilson, the teacher, handed her a script and said, “You’ll be trying out for the part of Lily, the curious gardener.”
Emily nodded and began her lines, but her mind started wandering. She couldn’t remember all the words, so she made up funny lines and silly stories as she went along.
Mrs. Wilson and the other teachers looked surprised. But Emily kept going, adding funny twists and turns to the character.
When she finished, there was silence, followed by a few giggles. Emily took a bow, her cheeks bright pink. She was worried she’d messed up the whole audition.
Backstage, her friends asked, “What happened out there, Emily?”
Emily sighed. “I forgot the lines and just made stuff up. I probably ruined my chances.”
But what Emily didn’t know was that her funny, creative performance had made the judges laugh a lot! They loved her version of Lily, the curious gardener.
A few days later, Emily was shocked to learn she’d been chosen for the role! The teachers thought her silly version of Lily would make the play even more fun.
Emily practiced with her friends every day, adding some of her funny lines to the script. Finally, the night of the play arrived, and the school auditorium was filled with parents, teachers, and students.
As Emily walked on stage, she felt a little nervous. But when the audience laughed at her funny lines, she grew more confident. Her performance was a hit! The crowd clapped, cheered, and laughed until tears filled their eyes.
After the play, Emily’s friends hugged her and said, “You were amazing!”
Emily took her final bow, realizing that sometimes, mistakes could lead to something magical. She learned that being brave and having fun could turn a little mess-up into a big success.
As she stood under the spotlight, Emily knew this play would be a memory to cherish forever.
