Secret Admirer Scavenger Hunt!
It was a bright spring morning at Meadowville Elementary, and something mysterious was happening. Emily opened her locker and gasped. Inside was a small note tied with a red ribbon.
She quickly unfolded it and read aloud:
“Clue #1 – I think you’re kind and super sweet,
Your smile makes the day complete.
Look where the books go to rest,
Your next clue waits—go on your quest!”
Emily looked around and saw her best friend, Daniel, standing nearby. “Daniel! Look at this!” she said, showing him the note.
Daniel raised his eyebrows. “Whoa, a scavenger hunt? With rhymes? This sounds like a secret admirer!”
Emily giggled. “A secret admirer? Like in the movies?”
Daniel nodded. “Let’s find out who it is. Come on, the clue said to check where books rest. That must mean the library!”
They hurried down the hall and into the quiet library. Ms. Hazel, the librarian, smiled as they walked in. “Looking for something special?” she asked with a twinkle in her eye.
Emily scanned the shelves until she spotted something unusual—a sparkly envelope tucked between two big books. She pulled it out.
Clue #2 – You’re clever and brave, that’s true,
This next spot has balls and hula hoops too.
Where fun and laughter fill the air,
Your next clue is waiting there!
“The gym!” Daniel said immediately.
They raced to the gymnasium, where Coach Berry was setting up cones. “Hey, no running indoors!” he called with a grin.
Emily spotted a bright pink balloon tied to the basketball hoop. Taped to it was the third note.
Clue #3 – You’re thoughtful and always lend a hand,
Helping others is just how you stand.
Check the place where lunch is made,
Where trays and cookies are displayed!
“Cafeteria!” they shouted together.
At the cafeteria, the smell of warm pizza filled the air. They tiptoed past the kitchen door and saw a sticky note stuck to the counter beside a basket of apples.
Clue #4 – Your laugh is like a happy song,
I’ve liked you secretly for so long.
Go to the room where music plays,
Where rhythm and melodies brighten our days.
Emily clutched the note to her chest. “This is getting really sweet,” she said softly. “Whoever this is… they know me really well.”
They reached the music room where Mr. Alto was tuning his guitar. “Looking for clues, detectives?” he asked.
Emily peeked under the piano bench and found another card, this time in the shape of a heart.
Clue #5 – Just one more clue before you see,
The face behind the mystery.
Look by the tree that blooms outside,
Your admirer there will no longer hide.
Emily and Daniel exchanged wide-eyed glances. “The big cherry blossom tree in the playground!” Daniel said.
They dashed outside into the warm sunshine. The cherry blossom tree stood proudly in full bloom, its pink petals fluttering like confetti in the breeze.
Beneath the tree stood a small wooden box with a final note.
Dear Emily,
I think you’re funny, kind, and cool.
You always cheer me up at school.
This hunt was just my little way
To brighten up your Friday.
If you want to know who I am,
Turn around with a smile and a slam!
Emily laughed. “With a slam? What does that mean?”
Suddenly, she heard a small thud behind her. She spun around and saw a boy nervously holding a small bouquet of wildflowers.
“Hi,” he said shyly. “I’m Noah… from the art club. I’ve liked you for a while, but I didn’t know how to say it. So… I made the scavenger hunt.”
Emily’s eyes widened. “You did all of this?”
Noah nodded. “I thought it would be fun.”
“It was amazing!” she said. “Thank you. This made my day.”
Daniel nudged her and whispered, “See? Secret admirer.”
Noah handed her the flowers. “So… maybe we can draw together at art club sometime?”
Emily smiled brightly. “I’d love that.”
As the three of them sat under the cherry blossom tree, with petals dancing around them like snow, Emily looked at the last note again. She couldn’t believe how a few simple clues had led to a sweet surprise and a new friendship.
And just like that, a regular Friday turned into a memory she’d never forget.
The End!
